What will you do when you retire?

What do you see yourself doing at 65? You may have some ideas, a vague image of yourself around that age, but re-inventing yourself is probably not on your list.

Our vision of growing older is different for each of us, something in the lines of relaxing, napping, lazying around and at best, keeping active for the sake of being able to play with our grandchildren. But with increasing life expectancy and popularity of healthy life style in the general population we need to be ready that our 50s, 60s or even 70s may still allow us active and productive life, which we can dedicate to, yes, enjoyment and fun, but also to contribution and service to others.

“When I started the cellular therapy coaching program I realized there is still some juice in this lady and I am not ready to retire! ” Anne-Grete Bjorlo

As I sat down to chat with Anne-Grete Bjorlo, I was amazed how much energy she had to share her story and get her message out into the world. She says her life has been a complicated journey of ups and downs, but her message is simple:

Go inside, heal yourself and start shining your light through. But in order to help others, you first have to come to peace with your own demons and clean any unresolved issues on the inside.

For the full interview, go here (video) to listen to her story about how she was able to combine her interests and previous experiences into a meaningful service of someone who supports, guides, educates and liberates others.

There is a beautiful metaphor that Anne-Grete shared with me. Just as the light-house shines its light through the fog and rain to allow lost ships at sea locate themselves, she wants to be a bright beacon of light for those who may need to be discovered and helped. But to keep shining through, we must constantly work on ourselves, by keeping the windows of our lighthouse clean. Keep purifying yourself so that you can radiate your message faithfully and clearly.

Anne-Grete is a quiet and peaceful nordic soul, full of compassion and love for others. She realizes that each one of us has a unique journey behind us, and on this journey we have picked up our fears, beliefs and premeditated notions about ourselves and life in general. We often had no choice in picking this or that belief, and we were indoctrinated by the judgements imposed on us by our parents, schools and influencers of that time. Once we reach adulthood, however, we take these beliefs for granted, as absolute truth. Only when we start questioning “our truth” and face “our fears” we embark on the journey of change.

There is a great quote by Josh Billings: ” It’s not what we don’t know that prevents us from succeeding; it’s what we know that just ain’t so that is our great obstacle.”

Yes, we don’t think, we just know, and this is why we never take time to question if what we know is truly valid. Oftentimes we know only that which we grew up believing, that, which is familiar to us and that which we came to accept as the only truth for us.

Anne-Grete has successfully healed clients from various phobias and fears with her practice of Thought Field Therapy, also known as tapping. She is a practitioner of TFT with Advance Questions Techniques.

TFT is a treatment, which allows a practitioner to stimulate acupuncture points of meridians without needles. It  was developed by Dr. Roger Callahan, and brought to Norway by the late Mats Uldal. TFT is effectively applied by therapists working with with people dealing with pain, anxiety, procrastination, trauma, panic, anger, etc.

But this is not the only therapy that Anne-Grete uses in her work with clients. She applies her knowledge in nutrition and Cellular Health Coaching. She is a believer in human body’s ultimate intelligence to heal itself if we, as its inhabitants, choose to treat it kindly, compassionately and with respect. That said, we must not forget that our Western medicin has a lot to offer, and that a combination of both can be very effective! This couple has combined both, since Anne-Grete could not order test since she is not a medical doctor, and since she does not like to work blindfolded! They let a clinic do the bloodwork, and adjusted supplements accordingly.

And this is exactly what she’s got to practice when she had to rise to the occasion and make a huge difference in one person’s life. Literally, that difference was that person’s life. It is almost magic and divine providence that when we step into our power and declare our commitment to serve, the universe sends us our ultimate test. That test was the life of her boyfriend who at that time had just moved in with her.

Nearly as soon as they moved together, he was diagnosed with a genetic lung condition which gave him, at that time 55, a grim estimate of 20% chance of surviving his 60th birthday. This dark place of shock and despair became the starting point of their amazing journey full of set backs and victories. Dedicated to support her husband in his new awareness of the internal resources his body possesses,  Anne-Grete tirelessly works to break through various limitations. Who can expect a genetic condition to be healed? To this day it is not healed, but with this couple’s hard work the result has been so far nothing short of incredible. On his last visit to the doctor, the supervising pulmonologist said that although the genetic condition is still there, and the lungs are still bad, he should not even be around to visit the pulmonogists office! Meaning, he should actually have been dead if it was not for the efforts the couple has made to live a life at the best possible quality all things considered.

And this is the result of combining many things, starting from proper sleep and nutrition and going as deep as facing and healing internal issues of anxiety and stress and traumas.
